We are working our way out of the State of California. We will be leaving on Wednesday to head to Phoenix to see Doug's family. We feel like we're out in the middle of nowhere right now. We've been here twice before. It's very hot and windy here. And since it's all dirt and no pavement, that makes it very dusty here. So Pearl is not a happy camper. She would love to be outside but the wind keeps blowing dust in her face.
Doug is enjoying hiking the trails, though he feels it's to hot to ride the bike on the trails. It much nicer to come here in the spring, fall and even winter. But we have an air conditioner which is where I am content to remain.
Matthew got to see the fireworks show at the Washington Monument, along with thousands of other people. He enjoyed that a lot.
We have no cell phone service here. I can get my wifi card to work with my cell phone. So I can use the Internet during the day. We can walk down the road a ways to get a signal to at least send and receive text messages. But we can't get calls in or out.
